Our philosophy is not to focus only on the symptoms attached to the patient but also the patient attached to the symptoms.

“The operating environment of general practice; by Prue Power and John Aloizos”

In this article which is available under the LINKS section, it will become abundantly clear that scientific technical investigation has largely replaced personal hands-on observation, and this has resulted in less face-to-face time during which a Practitioner can uncover and identify ‘hidden causes’ which are not always obvious in a quick general examination.

In this highly technical and specialised world of Western Medicine a subtle change has taken place over the last 60 years

Western Medicine has evolved to the point where there are two basic schools – The Generalist and The Specialist.

The Generalist who usually does a quick overview of the patient, diagnoses conditions and recommends drug or other treatment.

When this doesn’t work the patient then gets referred to a Specialist in any one of a number of highly evolved, extremely technical and usually expensive areas.

This process continues until an outcome eventually emerges.

Every system in the world strives for balance and the human body is no exception. For every action there tends to be an equal and opposite reaction – no matter how small – and repeating a dysfunctional pattern will result in a long term compensation elsewhere.

The reality is that there are really only four groups of communicable diseases – things that we can ‘catch’ from others. Viruses, Bacteria, Parasites and Fungi. Almost EVERYTHING else that we suffer from is actually created by ourselves as a consequence of what we DO.

Most of these dysfunctional patterns have their origin in early childhood and they get progressively worse as we age. The Breathing Well concept is based around identifying and addressing these issues early on and taking the necessary steps to ensure that they do not develop into long-term chronic adult conditions.
